Sony Teaches an Octopus How to Take Underwater Photos

In a stunt to advertise its TX30 underwater camera, Sony “taught” an octopus how to take underwater photographs of a bunch of elementary school children. Agency FCB New Zealand worked with Kelly Tarlton’s Sea Life Aquarium and animal trainer Mark Vette to train the female octopus (incongruously named Rambo) to use the camera using a rigged up device; you can see more in a Behind the Scenes video, including how a male octopus originally destroyed the camera…
