Comenzó como una startup y hoy Parkimovil, es un producto consolidado con miras a traspasar las fronteras nacionales.

El municipio de Zacatlán de las Manzanas en Puebla fue el lugar en donde el proyecto inició, ya que al tratarse de un pueblo mágico era necesario implementar un sistema para regular el estacionamiento en las calles del centro. Los parquímetros a la vieja usanza no eran una opción para administrar el estacionamiento en Zacatlán pues además de ser obsoletos, suelen ser molestos para la gente, asegura Anaya. Por ello surgió la idea de contar con un sistema de administración de estacionamientos pero sin máquinas, es decir, de manera virtual.

Los parquímetros virtuales de Parkmovil funcionan de la siguiente manera. Puedes pagar de tres formas:

– Pago por mensaje de texto (SMS) por celular
– A través de la app en un Smartphone (Android o iOS)
– Pago en efectivo en alguna tienda de abarrotes local….

TrackR Bravo

Hace tiempo que la tecnología GPS permite hacer dispositivos (transmisores) cada vez mas pequeños. Tanto, que hace tiempo hasta yo tenía un proyecto con esta tecnología: quería inventar un aplicación, con un GPS que le podías poner a tu mascota en el collar, para que te avisara cuando se aleja demasiado, y no perderlo. Probamos unos prototipos (mi esposa y yo) y el proyecto, aunque interesante, se frenó cuando hubo que invertir más tiempo/dinero de lo que podíamos en desarrollo.

Ahora veo este invento, del tamaño de una moneda y que tiene multiples funciones y usos. Y creo que mi idea, aunque era buena, realmente se había quedado corta…

El diseñador danés Sebastian Campion puso este cursor gigante en una plaza pública, en la ciudad española de Figueres, para que la gente jugara con él, se subieran y lo movieran de un lado a otro. Todas esa interacciones esto fueron monitoreadas vía GPS y trazadas en un mapa urbano. Obviamente lo interesante son las reacciones de las personas…

Urban Cursor is a GPS enabled object designed to facilitate social interaction and play in public space. 

The object, which is shaped as an oversized 3-dimensional computer cursor (pointer), was placed on a square in Figueres, Catalunya during the cultural festival Ingràvid. 

Here, people could touch it, move it around and sit on it as an alternative to the benches. 

Despite being removed from its normal screen based environment, the cursor was still in touch with the digital world. Via an embedded GPS device, the cursor transmitted its geographic coordinates to a website. At the website, the coordinates were mapped in Google Maps thereby documenting the cursor’s movements in the physical world and making it possible for participants to see how they collectively helped move the object around…
